CHURCH LEADERSHIP

We Aim to be Servant Leaders

Our goal as a leadership team is to submit ourselves to the authority of Scripture and use our God-given talents to glorify God as we treasure, apply, and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.

DEACONS

We Don't Do This Alone

Mike Seaver

Lead Pastor

Mike Seaver and his family were sent to Summerville, SC, from Crossway Community Church in Charlotte, NC, in 2011 to help plant Risen Hope Church. As Lead Pastor, he is responsible for the majority of preaching and teaching, envisioning, and leadership development.

Mike has an undergraduate degree from Carson-Newman College, a Masters of Divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and he was also trained at the Sovereign Grace Pastors College.

Mike has been married to his best friend, Kristin, since 2000. They have six beautiful daughters and three handsome sons. He enjoys going to the beach or pool with his family, reading biographies, doing “daddy-daughter dates” with his girls, and playing basketball with his boys.

Christopher Warren

Pastor

Christopher Warren and his family were part of the original team sent from Charlotte, NC, to help plant Risen Hope Church in 2011. He oversees financial stewardship, leads the worship ministry team, and shares preaching and pastoral care responsibilities.

Christopher has an undergraduate degree in business from Otterbein University and a Master of Business degree from Franklin University. He has been an ordained Sovereign Grace pastor since 2020.

Christopher has been married to his truly better half, Stephanie, since 1991 and they have two amazing daughters. He enjoys reading, music, playing board games, and finding any excuse to spend time with family and friends.

Samuel Johnson

Pastor

Samuel Johnson attended Boyce College in Louisville, KY, graduating with a B.A. in Pastoral Leadership and Expositional Preaching and began his Masters of Divinity in Theological Studies. While in Louisville, he also became a member of Sovereign Grace Church of Louisville where he interned on several fronts before God called him to Summerville. Upon arriving in 2020, he continued to be trained and equipped for pastoral ministry, which led to his ordination in 2023. Samuel oversees equipping and mobilizing members to care for each other through biblical counseling, along with vision and leadership over Community Groups.

He has a love for the outdoors and anything sports related. In his free time you can find him on the soccer field (really called a “pitch”), in a tree stand, or at the beach fishing or surfing.

Nick Richardson

Pastor-in-Training

Nick Richardson and his family moved from Vermont to the Summerville area in the spring of 2021. After completing a 10–month intensive pastoral training program at the Sovereign Grace Pastors College in 2023–24, Nick is currently serving as a part-time Pastor-in-Training at Risen Hope Church while pursuing ordination.

Nick earned his undergraduate degree in business and will be pursuing his Masters of Divinity in biblical counseling after he is ordained. Nick has been married to his high school sweetheart and best friend, Jenna, since 2003 and they have three wonderful children. Nick enjoys spending time with his friends and family, all things music, and being outdoors.
