Risen Hope Church was established in 2011 as a church plant out of Sovereign Grace Churches.  Several families moved to Summerville from Charlotte, NC, to help plant the new church, originally called Sovereign Grace Church of the Lowcountry (SGCL).  The Lord later brought a connection between the leadership of SGCL and Sangaree Baptist Church, who decided that our churches are better together than we are apart.  In 2018, the two churches merged to become one, new church family called Risen Hope Church.  We meet on Sundays at 10 a.m. on the former Sangaree Baptist Church property.

There is also a Welcome Center in the lobby with church information and folks to meet you and answer any questions you may have.

Our worship music style is contemporary with a mixture of modern worship songs and hymns. They are sung expressively with the leading of the Holy Spirit and working through His gifts. If you would like to hear some songs we use, check out the Sovereign Grace Music website.

We try to choose songs with Christ-centered theology that will stir our hearts to affection and praise to the Lord as we sing.

Our desire is to teach in a thoroughly biblical manner while making it applicable to everyday life. Most of the time we preach verse-by-verse through different books of the Bible (expository preaching). We will occasionally do a topical message series to address specific issues.
